VIIth International Conference of Students of Archaeology

"PAST, MYTHS AND SYMBOLS"
VIIth International Conference of Students of Archaeology
Obrzycko near Poznan (Poland)
7-9 December 2005

The Student Association of Archaeology from the Adam Mickiewicz University invites to the next International Conference of Students of Archaeology. This will be the seventh traditional meeting of young archaeologists. We hope that the topic of the conference this year (as it was during the previous ones) will be an inspiration for informative and interesting discussion not only for archaeologists but for students of another disciplins as well. Despite that, the topic of this conference has an archaeological theme representatives of another disciplines are welcome – historians, art historians, philosophers, sociologists, biologists, anthropologists etc. We are sure that a disscusion in a interdisciplinary environment will be more fruitful and beneficial.

The VIIth International Conference of Students of Archaeology has in mind an interdisciplinary character. So we try not to restrict papers to certain problems and we are open for different propositions (of course they should keep the main topic more or less). The programme of the conference will consists of papers presented by students of a variety of disciplines, panel discussions and a series of interactive workshops (groups of maximum 20 people). Workshops (beside the papers) were introduced in last year’s conference and we decided to keep to it this year as well. We belive that this formula allows exchange of thoughts, open discussions and common work.

Location of the conference: As always the conference will take place in Obrzycko near Poznan in a manor house belonging to the university. There will be a special bus which will take participants from Poznan to Obrzycko and back (fare is included within the conference fee). The bus will depart in front of the Collegium Minus (the main university building in the center of the town) in Wieniawski Street 1 (near the Adam Mickiewicz square and monument). We will inform you about the time of departure. You can also be met at the railway station or airport. If you have any problems with transportation we will gladly help you.
